Budget Friendly Halloween Table

Monday, October 26, 2015

Its always fun decorating for Halloween. I usually set up a vignette on my buffet but since its being repurposed I decided to do a fun budget friendly tablescape.

I used things I had on hand and a few new pieces bought from the Dollar store, Target and Marshalls.

I bought the tombstone chair covers from the Dollar store. The black plates also came from the Dollar store, as well as the black roses on the napkins. The spider web place mats were made from two tote bags that I purchased for three dollars each at Target. I just split each bag down the center of the gusseted sides and bottom and folded the cut sides under. I got four place mats out of two totes.

I used my everyday flatware, goblets that I bought from a thrift store years ago and candlesticks that were also old thrift store finds.

The cute Halloween bowls were bought from Marshalls and the chalkboard tags came from Targets dollar spot.

The skull centerpiece also came from Target and the creepy rat from the Dollar store.

The bony hands creeping out are salad tongs! also a Dollar store find.

I added sparkly black twigs and a few creepy bugs to the pumpkins and scattered a few around the table.

Theres that bony hand again! The flowers surrounding the skull and pumpkins under the cloche are dried hydrangeas saved from the garden. At first I thought they dried a really ugly color, but I think they're perfect for Halloween.

All totaled the whole tablescape came in at around 26.00. The most expensive being the cute bowls from Marshals. They were 7.99 for four. Everything else was 1.00 - 3.00 dollars each. I hope you enjoyed my Halloween table and weren't too creeped out!  Thanks for stopping by. I'll be joining these fun linkups this week,

  2. WOW!!! This is definitely one of the best Halloween tablescapes I have seen this season. Just the right amount of spooky, yet still very much an adult setting. I love the use of crystal, glass cloches and silver flatware, really brings it all together. I will be using several of your ideas for my own table decor for my Halloween dinner - thank you so much for sharing .

  3. WOW, I love every detail of your "spirited" tablescape! The Dollar Store has so much inspiration for so little money. I've always done Halloween on the cheap, it's so much fun to gather up hodge podge stuff and come up with something to decorate with.Happy Halloween!

    2. Love this tablescape! So many fun and scary details that I really enjoyed checking out. I kept wondering what that was around the skull under the cloche only to read later it is dried hydrangeas...they just "make" that centerpiece, "ugly" colour and all! How crafty of you to make those placemats out of bags. You really did a good job staying in budget and now, you'll have these wonderful pieces (love those bowls) to use in different ways for years to come. Visiting from Savvy Southern Style - so glad I stopped by!
