Adding Spring

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

All of my seasonal decorations are buried in my shed, behind home reno stuff and an entire dining room set that I have to re do. I didn't want to be left out of the spring celebrations in blog land so I used a few items that I had in the house and cobbled together a spring wreath and a little vignette.

I couldn't get to my grapevine wreath forms either, they are also behind the great reno wall, so I used a 10" cardboard cake circle to make the wreath. I added moss and silk flowers and eggs that I made a couple of years ago. I put a nest under a cloche and added faux tulips to  galvanized buckets purchased recently at Marshalls.

The rest of the house is in serious disarray, the slipcovers had to be removed and washed because of flying sawdust. Progress is good but it sure is  messy. This one bright spot will have to be removed soon to make way for painting and flooring. I'll tell you a secret, boxes of back splash tiles are behind this table LOL.  Thanks for stopping by, I'll be joining these ladies this week,

  15. I love your wreath, pretty good for scrounging the stuff to make it. You're pretty inspiring and very talented. Would you like to donate that frame the wreath is in to me? I'd even buy it. It's gorgeous. Guess I'm gonna have to cut loose with more green stuff if I want one like that cause I sure haven't seen any in the thrift shops around us. (Grand Junction, CO)We live out in country west of G.J. so we don't get into town as often as needed I guess to find the great stuff.
Those buckets you got at Marshalls are awesome. Don't have a Marshalls either. Going over the mountains to Denver isn't an option, especially not at this time of year. So guess I'll have to buy a gorgeous frame like yours at HL on sale/coupon. good luck on all your projects in your home. Happy March

  22. Gorgeous vignette, Karen! When spring colors come to mind it is often the bright and vivid tones we think of. This is a lovely example of the beauty of spring in soft shades of the season. The galvanized buckets and glass cloche put the "accent" on spring perfection. Note to self: must visit Marshalls soon!

  35. Hi, Karen! I'm visiting from the Home's Girl's blog party. Please know that you are not alone. We recently had a leak in our master bath shower that sent water through the dining room ceiling. Wall tiles & ceilings have been torn out, floors disrupted...it's a mess! We are also on the cusp of getting a lot of outdoor work done in addition to some indoor painting. I'm bracing myself! I salute you for rising up to the challenge of bringing some Spring beauty into your otherwise chaotic 4 walls! We do what we have to when the goin' gets rough! Hang in there!

  38. It's been a long time since we did any renovating, but I remember how difficult it was to live with constant dust and disarray. But, it is worth it in the end.
