In an effort to add a little fall decor to my home I made an arrangement for my buffet, You know the one that I bought months ago that's not finished...
Yea this one.
Well the plan is to have it done by Thanksgiving so feeling very optimistic I went ahead and made myself a fall arrangement to set upon it. It's 99% fake flowers and 1% real flowers taken from my garden. I used succulents and some dark leaves from a shrub that I don't know the name of. Everything else is from my stash with the exception of the gourds that I purchased from the dollar store. I made the arrangement in a soup tureen that I bought years ago at The Goodwill. The cost of the whole shebang is about 4.00 dollars. I REALLY think I have way to much stuff. I added a little more fall color to this than my side table arrangement. Lately I've become fond of asymmetrical arrangements, I tend to go through phases with my floral designs... this is the design that I came up with ...for now. I tend to pick at things and change them around a million times. By the time Thanksgiving actually arrives it will probably look very different.
I guess I'd better stop playing with flowers and get back to furniture or else I'll end up doing that dance with my hubby, you know the one ... I put an arrangement on the dining room table and he moves it...grrr. I've given up on it, ya know you've got to pick your battles. Anyone else have that problem? Oh yeah Picnic has some really cool Halloween effects. I used VampiraScope on the pic third from the bottom. Well I'm off to work on furniture .Wish me luck! I 'll be linking up with these great parties this week,

Love it. I am a sucker for any kind of flower arrangement. I always use a little bit of faux and a little bit of real. I love the artichoke. I don't think its too full at all and I like the asymmetrical design. I always try to pull something like that off but never seem to be successful at it. LOL Can't wait to see your finished buffet.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Karen! I love how nice and full your arrangement is!

Mixing real with fake is a good idea..looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove it-you did a wonderful job putting it together. And..the buffet? Well- if it doesn't get done for Thanksgiving you can always shoot for Christmas!;>)
ReplyDeleteWe have our "battles" too. My biggest pet peeve is that MyHero leaves EVERY door he opens-OPEN! Pantry, cupboard, bathroom cabinet, closets...just drives me round the bend. I get even- I use his toothbrush to scrub his sink- works for me!;>) xo Diana
Wow! That is a gorgeous arrangement! Great job!
ReplyDeleteWow! I have zero talent when it comes to flowers. This is just lovely!!

Dearest Karen,
ReplyDeleteWell, you are working hard at trying to 'cover up' your unfinished buffet. But for sure you will manage that part too before a month has passed!
Love to you,
Mariette
How pretty. I love centerpiece floral arrangements, but have to be careful since our two cats tend to chew on the "fun" things.

ReplyDeleteKaren, that's a very nice arrangement. I see a little autumn joy in the mix. My fave. You'll get around to the buffet, and when you do, it will be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI just love the colors in your arrangement! That last picture is my favorite. You sound like me - always changing things up. I don't think you should change that arrangement though. It's pretty just the way it is.
ReplyDeleteYour floral arrangement is stunning! I adore the color and the mixture of elements! The prior post is another stunner!
ReplyDeleteKaren, your arrangement is so pretty, and I am confident your finished buffet will be equally as pretty!

Wow... you put together a really beautiful arrangement! I really love the artichoke tucked in there. It will be so fun to see your finished buffet!
ReplyDeleteI love the asymmetrical look also. That buffet looks a lot like mine that I painted in January. It's turquoise, but I may be repainting it soon because the turquoise just isn't fitting in my room.
ReplyDeleteYou have done a very great job. Your fall arrangement looks so beautiful. I press all tumbs, that you'll find time to finish the buffet. I'm sure, that it get a fantastic makeover!
