Spooky Bride and Groom

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

It's not been an easy task decorating for Halloween this year. I took a few items from my stash earlier in the month and went back for more a few days ago. I ran into a slight problem. Someone, who will remain nameless moved things around in the shed and totally blocked my boxes.Unfortunately some of the blockage is heavy furniture waiting for yours truly to give it a makeover.I cant move it. So I made do with what I had in the house.

I had this holographic picture of a spooky bride and groom, so I worked around that. I put the picture in a dollar store frame sprayed it white and dusted it with a little black glitter.

The picture changes from this lovely couple to this scary one when you look at it from a different angle.

She turns into a snake headed lady and he looks like a zombie mummy...scary! Since it's a wedding picture I added some romantic elements to the vignette. Black Roses, and black Calla Lilies add the spooky romance.

I wrapped my dollar store holy candles in black cardstock, wrapped a little strip of French script around it and stamped a scary cat on one, bats and a witch on the others.

Romantic Black dollar store Roses and shimmery skulls, along with white pumpkins and my thrift store coverless books.

Can you feel the creepy love? It's sorta romantic and goth and sorta creepy too. Hello cute little dollar store owl. I wanted to use my Ravens but they were...you guessed it blocked in the shed.

I didn't spend any money and even though my stuff was blocked I managed to pull something together. Is that a sign that you have to much junk?  Happy Halloween! I'll be linking up with these great parties this week,

  1. This is so cool, Karen! I can't believe you can do this with a photo! And black glitter?? I just love all of it. Not too over the top but fantastic! And I have the same problem with my shed...the heavy stuff always seems to be in front!

  3. I think you put together a very creepy vignette, Karen, using what you were able to get to! That's where the creativity comes out when you have to use what you've got to make something work. I'd say you managed just fine! : )

  9. Well you made do very nicely! My other half put my stuff in our crawl space and made it very difficult for me to get to- so I make him bring the containers out! Those black roses are creepy but I love it and that picture too. I have a gravestone picture that shows two images- I love this kind of stuff!
