A Soft and Romantic Fall Mantle

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

I know I've said it a million times, but I don't really have a mantle, I just pretend my buffet is my mantle and change it with the seasons. Here is my first Fall vignette,

It's soft and neutral and coordinates well with my raggedy wreath. But it will probably change as the season goes along.

I'm really in the mood for soft and romantic right now.

Since most of my stash is in vibrant fall colors I picked out  the few muted colors I have, my white pumpkins, made a few canvas and burlap  pumpkins and spray painted a couple white. Then I decided to use my vintage silver, some thrift store books with the covers ripped off and my urn that I painted silver a while ago.

It's so much fun pulling out your fall stash only to discover you don't want to use any of it...not.

So here it, is my soft and romantic fall vignette ...for now. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be linking up with these great parties this week.

  1. It looks beautiful, Karen! I like the softer side of Fall myself. I pulled out my Fall bins this week and turned my nose up at most of it for this year. We'll see how I feel about it next year, but meanwhile I will see what I can pick up on clearance this year that appeals to me.

  2. I am smiling because I went through the very same thing. I kept thinking about it up there in the attic and grimacing at all the orange ad rust...
So I started the decorating.. later than usual and all I did was use arm loads of hydrangeas, tarnished silver, book page flowers and pine cones. The Mr. came homes... saw I had started and went and pulled it all down ... poor chap. I just looked at them and said... I knew it, not feeling it this year. They are now back in the attic.
    Luv yours.....
    Hugs, Gee

  3. Karen, I haven't started decorating yet, and I feel a little relieved that I'm getting so many ideas from bloggers like you! This is so pretty, so soft and romantic! I never thought to spray paint pumpkins... do you mind sharing your method and colors? And it looks like you have a lot of dried flowers tucked in and out, maybe I'm wrong. Just so wonderful! :)

    XO,
    Jane

  6. I just love an all white themed mantel....just can't bring myself to do it in our house or I would want to change it all! I'll always love traditional fall colors for their warmth and vibrancy, though!
