Dollar Store Romantic Valentine Place Settings

Valentines Day is not without tons of decor items to choose from, the Dollar Tree is no exception. The problem for me is I am not a fan of most of it. Since Valentines Day is about romance and love I figured I would just go with that and create a Valentines table for two,now how to do that using romantic elements that aren't so typically Valentines Day related.

I decided to use my silver chargers bought at the Dollar Tree before Christmas.

I added a dollar tree candy bowl that I painted pink on the outside with a modge podge and paint mixture.

I added a white salad plate from my everyday dinner ware  bought at Marshall's a few years  ago.

I decoupaged a clear glass dollar store dinner plate with a silver and white damask napkin and doilies I already had.

The goblets also came from  Dollar Tree, I bought them a couple of years ago.

The flatware I use everyday, it was a bonus gift from my husbands job.

I bought the pink tea light votives years ago from Big Lots.

The napkins  started out life as a round vintage doily that I bought from the thrift store years ago. I cut it in half folded the halves and used pink seam binding tied in a bow as a napkin ring. The tablecloth is a vintage Goodwill find, also from my stash. The silverplate teapot is also a thrift store purchase and the roses came from the produce market.

The final dollars spent for my little romantic place settings, 2.00 for two clear dinner plates and two dollars for the glass bowls,  and five dollars for roses, everything else I already owned. The grand total is 9.00 not to bad for a nice table setting for two. Thanks for looking, I'll be joining these great ladies this week,

  16. How exquisite your table looks. It's so pretty and sophisticated with your own treasures, just little additions from $tree. Now that's good thinking and being smart, not having to spend a lot to make your home look pretty for one day.

  18. Loved your tablescape! I, too, don't love red..or hearts, for that matter. I'm planning a table setting similar to yours using my husband's grandmother's pink flowered china. Hope mine turns out as pretty.
